According to Securities Times, it took less than half a year for Tesla’s Shanghai Super Charging Piling Factory project to be put into production from its formal establishment in August 2020. The project has an investment of about 42 million yuan, covers an area of nearly 5,000 square meters, integrates research and development and production. The initial planning is to have an annual capacity of 10,000 super charging piles, mainly V3 products. According to the data, each supercharger station will determine the number of supercharging piles according to the power supply and geographical location. Currently, Tesla’s largest supercharger station has 72 charging piles.
Figures show that in all of 2020, more than 410 Tesla superchargers were built on the Chinese mainland, including more than 180 Tesla V3 superchargers. The V3 product is Tesla’s most advanced charging pile device, which can replenish up to 250 kilometers of battery life after 15 minutes of charging. With the production of Tesla’s Shanghai Super Charging Pile Factory, Tesla will further improve the coverage density of the Super Charging Network in China.
