SDIC Gansu new energy and Sany Heavy energy recently completed the signing of the wind turbine and tower procurement contract for the 200MW (MW) project of zone B of SDIC Guazhou North Bridge No. 7 wind farm, which indicates that the two sides will jointly build an onshore wind power project with the largest single unit capacity in Guazhou county. After the completion of the project, it is expected to become the first wind power project in China with a kWh cost of less than 0.1 yuan / kWh.
Benefiting from the “rush to install” of offshore wind power and the superposition of carbon neutralization targets, the cost continued to drop. In the first half of this year, the new installed capacity of wind power increased significantly year-on-year, and many wind power industry chain enterprises achieved brilliant results. It is generally believed in the industry that the construction of grid connection of new energy such as wind power is expected to speed up in the second half of the year. According to the prediction of China Electricity Council, there will be nearly 40gw (gigawatts) of new market space for wind power in China in the second half of the year.
Projects with the lowest cost of kilowatt hour electricity are expected to appear
SDIC Gansu new energy and Sany Heavy energy recently completed the signing of the wind turbine and tower procurement contract for the 200 MW project of zone B of SDIC Guazhou North Bridge No. 7 wind farm. The project will arrange 32 wind turbines with a unit capacity of 6.25 MW produced by Sany Heavy energy.
According to the preliminary estimation of the wind farm construction conditions, the construction cost of the project is expected to be controlled below 4500 yuan / kW and the annual equivalent hours are about 3400 hours. Based on this, it is estimated that the equivalent hourly levelized kwh cost (lcoe) is 0.098 yuan / kWh. After the project is completed, it is expected to become the first wind power project with kwh cost less than 0.1 yuan / kwh in China.
With the “14th five year plan” wind power and photovoltaic fully entering the era of parity, it is urgent to reduce the cost and increase efficiency of new energy. In June this year, the State Power Investment Corporation reported the lowest price of 0.1476 yuan / kWh for the 200 MW photovoltaic project of zhengdou phase I in Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province. At the same time, it also set a record for the lowest on grid price of domestic photovoltaic power stations, which also marks that the competitiveness of photovoltaic has exceeded that of hydropower.
The industry believes that the wind power project jointly built by SDIC Gansu new energy and Sany Heavy energy will reduce the equivalent hourly levelized kwh cost (lcoe) to 0.098 yuan / kWh, which is expected to become the lowest kwh cost project in the field of new energy at present.
In the second half of the year, the new space of wind power is about 40gw
According to the data of the national energy administration, by the end of June 2021, the cumulative installed capacity of wind power in China had reached 292 million KW, including 281 million kw of onshore wind power and 11.134 million kw of offshore wind power.
From January to June 2021, the newly installed capacity of wind power connected to the grid in China was 10.84 million KW, including 8.694 million kw of onshore wind power and 2.146 million kw of offshore wind power. In terms of the distribution of new installed capacity, the Middle East and the South account for about 59%, and the “Three North” region accounts for about 41%. The layout of wind power development is further optimized.
The national new energy consumption monitoring and Early Warning Center believes that according to the notice of the National Energy Administration on matters related to the development and construction of wind power and photovoltaic power generation in 2021 (Guo Neng FA Xin Neng  No. 25), the guaranteed grid connection scale in 2021 shall not be less than 90 million KW, and the grid connection shall be guaranteed by power grid enterprises. The grid connection speed of wind power and other new energy construction is expected to increase in the second half of the year. It is expected that the new grid connection installed capacity throughout the year is expected to reach about 80 million to 100 million KW.
According to the latest prediction of China Electricity Council, the installed scale and proportion of non fossil energy power generation are expected to exceed that of coal power for the first time by the end of 2021. It is estimated that the national installed power generation capacity will be 2.37 billion kw by the end of the year, with a year-on-year increase of about 7.7%. Among them, the grid connected wind power is 330 million KW, which means that there will be nearly 40 GW of new market space in the second half of the year. The wind power market continued to maintain a high level of prosperity in the first year after the end of onshore wind power rush installation.
